The role
Front of House covers reception, concierge, guest services, and host roles in hotels, restaurants, members' clubs and serviced apartments. You're the first impression and the trusted point of contact — the person who turns a transaction into a stay people remember.
Who it suits
You'll thrive here if you're naturally warm, well-presented, and quick on your feet. Good with names. Comfortable on a system one minute and a difficult conversation the next. Calm under a queue at check-in.
A typical shift
You'll handle check-ins and check-outs, take bookings and enquiries, manage the in-house system, coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance, and look after guest requests as they come in. Quieter periods are for follow-ups, billing, and prep for arrivals. You'll close with a clean handover and a tidied desk.
Requirements & expectations
- Previous front-of-house, reception, or guest service experience
- Right to work in the UK
- Smart, professional appearance and warm manner
- Excellent English — clear, written and spoken
- Comfort with property management systems (Opera, Mews, etc.) is a plus
Skills you’ll gain
- Confidence handling complex bookings, complaints, and VIP guests
- Multilingual and multicultural guest awareness
- Familiarity with industry-standard PMS platforms
- Concierge knowledge of your local area
- A path into Duty Management, Guest Relations, and Reception Manager roles
