The role
Loss Prevention Officers (LPOs) protect retail environments from theft, fraud, and disruption while keeping the customer experience intact. The best LPOs blend high-street awareness with luxury-floor discretion — a uniformed presence in some sites, plain-clothes and quiet in others.

A typical shift
You'll work the floor or the CCTV room (or both), watching for known patterns, supporting the store team, handling shoplifting incidents from prevention through to police handover, and writing clean, defensible incident reports. Quieter periods are for store walk-rounds, stock-loss audits, and team briefings.
Requirements & expectations
- Valid front-line SIA licence (Door Supervision or Security Officer)
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong observational skills and patience
- Clear written English for incident reports and witness statements
- Calm conflict-management style
