The role
Concierge Security Officers cover the residential side of the high-end property market — premium apartment blocks, gated developments, and private residences. The role blends front-of-house concierge work (parcels, guest management, taxi calls, resident interaction) with licensed security work (access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, patrolling). The blend is what defines the role — residents expect a face they trust rather than a uniform that intimidates.
Who it suits
The role suits workers with the polish of front-of-house and the awareness of security. It is well-suited to those with hospitality backgrounds who have moved into licensed work, and to officers with the social skills to hold a long-term resident relationship as well as the discipline to handle an incident overnight.
A typical shift
Twelve-hour shifts, day or night. The shift covers a busy reception desk, resident and visitor access, a high volume of deliveries, CCTV monitoring, floor and grounds patrols, and incident response. Logs, handover, and incident reports are continuous. The desk is rarely empty for long.
Requirements & expectations
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence — mandatory and current
- Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS
- Hospitality or concierge background strongly preferred — the role is as much front-of-house as security
- Smart, professional presentation — typically suit-and-tie or branded uniform
- Strong written and spoken English
- Confidence with building management systems, access control software, and parcel logging
- Discretion with high-net-worth residents and guests
