The role
Construction Security protects active building sites — from materials theft and trespass through to access control and out-of-hours integrity. The role is part security officer, part site warden, with the safety standards that come with operating on a live build.
Who it suits
You'll thrive here if you don't mind weather, long shifts, and quiet hours that demand ness. Comfortable with paperwork — site logs matter. Good for people who'd rather be outside in PPE than indoors in a tie.
A typical shift
You'll start with a site induction or pre-shift briefing — hazards, exclusion zones, expected deliveries. Through the day or night you'll manage access, log visitors and contractors, conduct perimeter patrols, monitor CCTV and alarms, and respond to anything that breaks pattern. Handover at the end is detailed — sites run on accurate logs.
Requirements & expectations
- Valid front-line SIA licence (Security Officer or Door Supervision)
- Right to work in the UK
- Valid CSCS card (we'll guide you through this if you don't have one yet)
- Comfort with PPE and site safety standards
- Reliable in early starts, late finishes, and weather
Skills you’ll gain
