The role
Night Security Officers provide static security cover overnight at commercial, retail, and residential sites. The role is straightforward in principle — access control, patrols, monitoring, incident response — and demanding in practice because ness through the small hours is genuinely hard. Conifer places officers who can deliver consistently across long-term assignments.
Who it suits
The role suits disciplined workers who are awake and capable through the night, and physically able to walk the building all shift. It is well-suited to experienced officers who prefer nights, and to those who like the focus of a single site over the variety of mobile work.
A typical shift
Twelve-hour shifts, typically 7pm to 7am. The shift begins with a structured handover, followed by internal and external patrols on schedule, access management for late visitors, contractors, and emergency services, CCTV and access-system monitoring, patrol logging, and incident response across the range from intruder s to medical emergencies. Handover to the day team closes the shift.
Requirements & expectations
- SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor Licence — mandatory and current
- Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS where the site requires
- Awake-and- overnight working — discipline non-negotiable
- Physical fitness for full-shift patrolling
- Strong written English for patrol logs and incident reports
- Composed radio manner and clear emergency response
