The role
SIA Door Supervisors are licensed front-line security professionals — the calm, visible presence at the entrance and the trained responder when something needs handling. You'll be the first person guests see and the last word on who comes in, working across hotels, bars, events, retail sites, schools and corporate venues. It's a role where your judgement matters as much as your presence.

A typical shift
Most shifts start with a site briefing — risk points, expected footfall, anything to watch for. From there you'll be on the door checking ID and managing entry, walking the floor, supporting guests, logging incidents, and handing over cleanly to the next team. Some sites are quiet and steady; others are fast-moving. Either way, every shift teaches you something.
Requirements & expectations
- Valid front-line SIA licence — Door Supervision
- Right to work in the UK
- Smart, professional appearance
- Clear English, written and spoken, for briefings and incident reports
Skills you’ll gain
- Advanced de-escalation and conflict resolution
- Real-time risk assessment and decision-making
- Customer service under pressure, especially in luxury and corporate settings
- Emergency response, evacuation, and incident reporting
- A clear progression path into Security Supervisor, CCTV Operator, Close Protection, or in-house roles
